FAQ
WHAT IS WAVEBRAAKKER™?
Wavebraakker™ is the name given to a family of wave protection products. The system is comprised of an assembly of scientifically shaped modules. At present, we focus on three (3) specific interest areas: a) Minimization of surface waves of up to about two (2) Foot in height, b) A floating intrusion or security barrier and c) Sea floor systems to reduce the impact of heavy storm surges or wave action and assist in the remediation or accretion of the suspended sand or soil particle.
Other configurations are under study and we would welcome your specific inquiry requirement.
HOW ARE THE MODULES MANUFACTURED?
They are Rotary Molded of Long Life Polyethylene material. They are very rugged with a ¼ inch wall and the material is blended with Ultra Violet protection to reduce any tendency to fade or otherwise degenerate in service. The holes in the three (3) ears at each end of the modules have stainless steel sleeve inserts to minimize any tendency to erode the wall thickness at the holes by chafing of the ropes which are used to assemble each section.
HOW ARE THE SECTIONS ASSEMBLED?
Depending on your system, three (3), four (4) or more ropes are strung with modules in the particular configuration. For ease of handing, it is recommended that the sections be limited to 20 Ft lengths. These can typically be launched with an available boat trailer. Depending on the specific location, lengths of up to 50 Ft or less than 20 Ft may be considered. Each end of a section has an end plate to terminate the assembly roped and a center :”eye” for attachment to the next section or moorings.
WHAT COLORS ARE AVAILABLE?
We have selected “Green” as our standard color. This reflects our fresh approach to wave protection with an environmentally friendly product.
If you prefer some other color, we may be able to accommodate your requirement with a slight price adjustment.
WHAT ARE TYPICAL DELIVERY TIMES?
This is a function of stock on hand and production back logs at the molder.
We require a 50% deposit to confirm the order and to start production. Upon notice of readiness for shipment, we require payment of the balance.
The total time could vary from two (2) weeks for small orders from available stock on hand to two (2) to three (3) months for large systems. This can be discussed when negotiating delivery terms.
IS LIGHTING OR SIGNAGE PROVIDED?
No. But, guidance can be provided to buyer for attachment of suitable signage or solar based lighting.
DO YOU PROVIDE A WARRANTY?
Though a properly installed system should last as much as 20 to 25 years in an ice free location, we offer a Limited Warranty of ten (10) years. Upon notification of a factory defect in one of the modules and a written agreement by Wavebraakker™ the affected individual module(s) can be sent by owner to Wavebraakker™ for replacement..
Modules subjected to freeze damage or collision damage such as inflicted by a high speed boat hitting an intrusion barrier would be excepted from the warranaty.
Intrusion barrier assembled using wire rope should prevent any boat samage but some modules might be damaged.
WHAT ABOUT PERMITTING?
This issue varies widely depending on the particular location and the regulatory jurisdiction..
Actual permit application must be made by the ultimate owner or their representative. Once an order and deposit have been received, we will provide modular and system drawings and technical data to support your permit application.
DO YOU PROVIDE INSTALLATION SERVICES?
In the interest of minimizing the final cost to the end user, we offer the floating portion of the systems FOB the molder or our warehouse in Texas. Full assembly and installation instructions and procedures are provided. Since each application is typically different, we would provide guidance on the type of mooring or anchoring recommended. For those who prefer a turn key installation, we can recommend capable installers.
